Ford has a lot of exciting things going on. One is the introduction of two new electric vehicles in recent years. There's the Ford Mustang Mach-E, which is a crossover with Mustang-inspiration and performance, while the other is the Ford F-150 Lightning, giving us an electric version of the stalwart truck. Each are able to drive on electric power and be replenished by a charging device either out in public or at-home setups. But, in a pinch did you know the F-150 Lightning is able to charge up the Mustang Mach-E?
When you equip your Ford F-150 Lightning with the Pro Power Onboard package, you can get a supply of 9.6 kilowatts to share a charge. The F-150 Hybrid with the same package also has that with 7.2 kW. That means you can give about 20 miles of range to the Mustang Mach-E in about an hour. That's certainly useful if you have a vehicle and it needs a charge to go a short distance before a full charge, and it makes sense for fleets with the F-150 Lightning too as you can power other trucks as you work.
The innovation right now is just for Ford-to-Ford EVs, but it's one that we anticipate will be popular as more EVs start to come from the automaker, and perhaps as we all transition to EVs, this sort of technology will be pretty standard.
